Tapu Koko

Overview

Tapu Koko is a fantastic Pokemon that can hit extremely hard to due its ability Electric Surge, which gives its Electric-type moves a strong 50% boost while also blocking sleep-inducing moves such as Sleep Powder. Tapu Koko also sports a rare Electric typing, which allows it to defeat top threats such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Charizard Y. This, in combination with its extremely high Speed tier, allows it to outspeed almost all of the metagame, barring Mega Gengar, Pheromosa, and fast Choice Scarf users such as Porygon-Z. Tapu Koko also has access to Taunt, helping it defeat walls and setup sweepers that it would usually have trouble with, such as Deoxys-D and Chansey. However, Tapu Koko has generally mediocre offensive stats, which are mostly remedied by Electric Terrain. Tapu Koko also has low defensive stats, making it frail and susceptible to many attacks. This makes it reliant on high-damaging moves to OHKO foes and will usually lose if it cannot. Tapu Koko also lacks good coverage options, leaving it unable to bypass its checks such as Mega Venusaur and Kyurem-B. Tapu Koko also gets completely walled by Ground-type Pokemon such as Donphan, as its only attack cannot touch them.

Electrium Z
Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest / Adamant / Jolly
- Thunder / Wild Charge
- Taunt
- Substitute
- Charge / Nature's Madness

Moves

On the special set, Thunder is Tapu Koko's main attack; when used with an Electrium Z, its Base Power is boosted to a respectable 185 while also having STAB and a further boost from Electric Terrain. Gigavolt Havoc also ignores Thunder's unreliable accuracy and nukes most Pokemon that do not resist it. On the other hand, the physical set replaces Thunder with Wild Charge, which can be effective due to Tapu Koko's higher Attack stat. Wild Charge uses the alternative EV spread with maximum Attack instead of Special Attack. Taunt can shut down bulkier Pokemon such as Chansey and Deoxys-D that Tapu Koko would usually have trouble with, blocking their recovery and occasionally making them Struggle. It can also stop Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X from setting up. Substitute is useful for sponging up powerful Z-moves and recharge moves and can also aid Tapu Koko in defeating FEAR Pokemon such as Aron. Charge boosts Tapu Koko's Special Defense by one stage, allowing it to better deal with special attackers and Mega Venusaur. It also doubles the power of Tapu Koko's next Electric-type attack, making Gigavolt Havoc hit even harder. Nature's Madness, on the other hand, deals 50% damage to every Pokemon, regardless of resistance. It can be useful against Pokemon that Tapu Koko cannot OHKO, such as Chansey. However, Tapu Koko's low mixed bulk means that it usually cannot live an attack after using Nature's Madness, so it should only be used against very bulky Pokemon.

Set Details

The special set uses the first EV spread, which maximizes Tapu Koko's Speed and Special Attack, giving it as much power as possible while allowing it to outspeed most of the metagame. Tapu Koko can also be given a Timid nature to maximize its Speed, outspeeding Pokemon such as maximum Speed Greninja along with Speed tying Mega Gengar. On the other hand, a Modest nature can be used to give Tapu Koko more power, but this comes at the cost of Speed. However, Modest Tapu Koko can still outspeed maximum Speed Mega Metagross and Modest Greninja. The physical set uses the alternative EV spread, maximizing Tapu Koko's Speed and Attack. A Jolly nature gives it more Speed, while an Adamant nature gives Tapu Koko more offensive power. The item of choice is Electrium Z, which powers up Thunder or Wild Charge by a large amount. When used in tandem with Electric Surge, it can OHKO most foes.

Usage Tips

In most situations, click Gigavolt Havoc to nuke opposing Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados. Both special and physical variants of Tapu Koko are equally viable, but they can be used to deal with different Pokemon. Physical variants can better deal with Pokemon with high Special Defense, such as Meloetta and Chansey. However, a specially oriented set allows Tapu Koko to defeat Pokemon with high Defense, such as Mega Metagross. When up against a bulkier Pokemon such as Deoxys-D, use Taunt to cripple them, making them unable to heal while also potentially making them use Struggle. Against high-HP Pokemon such as Chansey, Nature's Madness should be used to chip off lots of damage in tandem with Taunt to stop recovery. Avoid sending in Tapu Koko against Pokemon that can easily beat it, such as Donphan. However, teammates such as Mega Gyarados can be used to threaten these Pokemon and bring in Tapu Koko against a more favorable matchup. Try to keep Tapu Koko away from Pokemon that outspeed it, such as Choice Scarf Porygon-Z and Pheromosa, as they can OHKO it due to its low defenses. Tapu Koko can also be used to threaten opposing Pokemon such as Mega Pinsir and Mega Gyarados, allowing the safety of teammates such as Mega Charizard Y.

Team Options

Pokemon weak to Mega Gyarados or Mega Charizard Y, such as Crustle and Magearna, can take advantage of Tapu Koko's typing and speed to scare off potent threats. Mega Gyarados in particular can be used to cover some of Tapu Koko's checks such as Donphan and Crustle. Fast hard-hitting Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Garchomp can easily KO Tapu Koko, making checks such as Mega Slowbro appropriate teammates. Tapu Koko can also take care of many bulky Pokemon such as Deoxys-D and Chansey, and Magearna, allowing Pokemon such as Kyurem-B to come in safely. On the other hand, Tapu Koko can also nuke many fast wallbreakers such as Mega Metagross, Greninja, and Mega Pinsir, allowing more defensive Pokemon to be brought in. Tapu Koko also has a very hard time dealing with Ground-type Pokemon, meaning teammates such as Mega Gyarados can scare them off and make it easier to bring in Tapu Koko.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

Tapu Koko can run Hidden Power Ice, but it only hits Landorus and non-Choice Scarf Garchomp and has a low Base Power. Tapu Koko can also use Dazzling Gleam as a backup move in case Gigavolt Havoc does not OHKO the foe due to Thunder's unreliable accuracy. It can almost always finish off a foe that has lived Gigavolt Havoc and can also hit Pokemon that are not affected by Gigavolt Havoc. Thunderbolt can also be used instead of Thunder, as it produces only a slightly weaker Gigavolt Havoc and has reliable accuracy if Gigavolt Havoc does not OHKO.
Checks and Counters

Ground-type Pokemon: Ground-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Rhyperior are completely unaffected by Gigavolt Havoc and can OHKO Tapu Koko with hard-hitting moves of their own.

Sturdy or Disguise Pokemon: Every Sturdy Pokemon besides Air Balloon Magnezone beats Tapu Koko, as they can live any single hit and proceed to OHKO Tapu Koko in return. Mimikyu can also beat Tapu Koko by living any attack through Disguise and retaliating with a powerful Z-move.

Choice Scarf Users: Choice Scarf users such as Garchomp and Porygon-Z outspeed Tapu Koko and can easily OHKO it with their STAB moves due to its low defenses.

Electric-resistant Pokemon: Pokemon that resist Tapu Koko's main move Gigavolt Havoc, such as Kyurem-B, usually defeat Tapu Koko by virtue of living its most powerful attack and dealing massive damage back. Grass-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn also resist Gigavolt Havoc and can OHKO Tapu Koko in return.

Other Options

  • Tapu Koko can run Hidden Power Ice, but it only hits Landorus and non-Choice Scarf Garchomp and has a low base power.
  • Tapu Koko can also utilize a Calm Mind + Roost set, but it lacks the longevity and bulk needed for it. Tapu Koko also misses out on coverage.
  • Hidden Power Fire can hit Ferrothorn to allow Tapu Koko to defeat it, but has little utility otherwise.
  • Nature’s Madness deals 50% damage to every Pokemon, regardless of resistance. It can be useful against Pokemon that Tapu Koko usually cannot OHKO, such as Chansey and Mega Venusaur. However, Tapu Koko’s low mixed bulk means it usually cannot live an attack after using Nature’s Madness.

Specially Defensive Pokemon: Tapu Koko has an incredibly hard time breaking through special walls such as Chansey and Deoxys-Defense, which can then wear down Tapu Koko and stall it out.
This is ready for QC, im not sure if this is the optimal set but its the set i use, so im going with it.

AM QC check coming in. This is purely suggestion and doesn't count as a QC check

Set + moves
I don't think this set is very good tbh. Tapu Koko pretty much depends on one-shotting with Gigavolt Havoc and putting Dual Electric STAB seems wasteful because if you're not OHKOing with Gigavolt Havoc, it's very unlikely you're picking up the 2HKO with thunderbolt. Dazzling Gleam is rarely useful. Thunder is stronger on dark and fighting types because of electric terrain and Dazzling Gleam isn't going to help your match-up against Sawk or Umbreon anyways. Dazzling Gleam is only mathematically useful against Dragon-types, but then Charizard-X is neutral to fairy, Dragonite is neutral to electric, and Garchomp and KyuB live anyways. I'd rather run Tbolt for the accuracy if you really think you need it. Grass knot's not going to change the outcome on your Donphan or Golem match-up. It has sturdy to live anyways and EQ will kill. I feel like Grass Knot is only good against the likes of Swampert and Gastrodon, but they carry rindo berry, which leaves Grass knot tech just for Quagsire? Brave Bird isn't even that good against Venusaur-mega because Venusaur-mega can easily live an uninvested brave bird and sludge bomb tapu koko. I'd put in taunt/substitute and nature's madness as these moves can easily by pass Stall pokemon.
These moves 50/50 chansey and blissey as Nature's madness, nature's madness, Gigavolt Havoc KO's and the 50/50 relies on predicting the soft boiled with taunt. Similarly DeoD can be easily taunted to stop it's PP stall set up and recovery. Substitute can block status moves, and synergizes with Calm Mind against Set-up sweepers like Charizard X.

Usage Tips
Flesh out this section, what high end threats can Tapu Koko beat with which moves. What moves have benefits over others in some situations etc.

Teammate Options
You should also include the benefits the teammate has if Tapu Koko is next to them. I.e. Tapu Koko nukes Magearna for Mega Gyarados.

Other Options
You should really include Physical Koko. Z-Wild Charge is pretty powerful and Koko's physical movepool is as bad as it's special movepool.

Checks and Counters
Really emphasize how ground types just completely shut down Tapu Koko. Without Gigavolt Havoc, it's not accomplishing anything.

Overall, take your time when thinking about Tapu Koko's match-ups. Check the Damage Calculator to make sure that what you say will KO actually does KO and try to think of how Tapu Koko or it's foe can get around a bad match-up.

ok, implemented everything. one thing i wasnt sure about was "Substitute can block status moves, and synergizes with Calm Mind"
- calm mind is OO so im sure if it should really be mentioned in moves
thanks for suggestions though ^_^

Tapu Koko

Overview

  • Tapu Koko’s Electric Surge gives its Electric-type attacks a strong 1.5x boost. And prevents sleep.
  • A good typing in Electric / Fairy allows Tapu Koko to defeat top threats such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Charizard Y. You beat those just by being Electric. If Electric/Fairy is good, mention what pokemon being that combination is good against.
  • An extremely high speed tier allows Tapu Koko to outspeed almost all of the metagame, barring fast Choice Scarfers such as Garchomp. "barring all Choice Scarfers, Mega-Gengar and Pheromosa.
  • Access to Taunt lets it beat walls it would usually have trouble with, such as Deoxys-D. Taunt helps with other pokemon too. Like Charizard X and Chansey.
  • Mediocre offensive stats make Tapu Koko fall short of crucial damage and make it less powerful than other hard hitters in the metagame. I don't know about this. Z-Thunder hits harder than Scarf Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z. Its low offensive stats make its coverage moves really weak, but Z-Thunder and Wild Charge are incredibly strong.
  • Low defenses make it frail and susceptible to many attacks, making Tapu Koko reliant on high damaging moves to OHKO foes.
  • Lack of coverage options leaves Tapu Koko unable to bypass its checks such as Donphan and Crustle. Even if you had a coverage move for these pokemon, you would lose anyway to Sturdy. You can put Crustle to 1 hp with just Z-Thunder. Kyurem-B, Garchomp, and Mega-Venusaur are better examples.

Electrium Z
Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest / Adamant
- Thunder/Wild Charge
- Taunt
- Substitute
- Nature's Madness/Charge

Moves
  • Thunder is Tapu Koko’s main attack; when used with an Electrium Z, its base power is boosted to a respectable 185, while having STAB and a further boost from Electric Terrain. Gigavolt Havoc also ignores Thunder’s unreliable accuracy, and nukes most Pokemon that do not resist it.
  • Taunt can shut down bulkier Pokemon such as Chansey and Deoxys-Defense that Tapu Koko usually have trouble with, making them either Struggle to death or unable to heal. It can also stop these Pokemon from setting up, such as stopping Mega Slowbro's Calm Mind or Amnesia. You nuke Mega-Slowbro. You don't need to Taunt it.
  • Substitute blocks status such as Toxic or Will-O-Wisp and can help Tapu Koko defeat bulky Pokemon by sponging up their attacks, especially after using Taunt. I'm honestly not sure what pokemon you would dodge Toxic or Will-o-Wisp against. Also, doesn't just about anything break Tapu Koko's sub? Substitute is better for dodging Z-Moves, recharge moves, moves like Overheat, and FEAR.
  • Nature’s Madness deals 50% damage to every Pokemon, regardless of resistance. It can be useful against Pokemon that Tapu Koko cannot OHKO, such as Chansey and Mega Venusaur. However, Tapu Koko’s low mixed bulk means it usually cannot live an attack after using Nature’s Madness, so it should only be used against very bulky Pokemon. In my opinion, Charge is better than Nature's Madness. It fills a similar roll, but also increases your SpDef, which helps you against Mega-Venusaur and Magearna, for example.

Set Details
  • The EVs maximize Tapu Koko’s Speed and Special Attack, giving it as much power as possible while outspeeding a majority of the metagame.
  • Tapu Koko can be given a Timid nature to maximize its Speed, outspeeding Pokemon such as max speed Greninja. And speed-tying Mega-Gengar.
  • A Modest nature can also be used to give Tapu Koko more power, but is traded for Speed.
  • The item of choice is Electrium Z, which powers up Thunder by a large amount. When used in tandem with Electric Surge, it can OHKO most opponents.

Usage Tips
  • In most situations, click Gigavolt Havoc to nuke opposing Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados.
  • When up against a bulkier Pokemon such as Deoxys-D, use Taunt to shut them down and use Substitute to wall their attacks. Why would you sub vs Deo-D?
  • Against high HP Pokemon such as Chansey, use Nature's Madness to chip off lots of damage and then use Taunt to stop recovery. However, some Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro are hurt more by Gigavolt Havoc than by Taunt. You literally just OHKO Mega-Slowbro no matter what.
  • Avoid sending in Tapu Koko against Pokemon that can easily beat it, such as Donphan, unless team mates such as Mega Gyarados can scare them off. This should be expanded. Most of using Tapu Koko is trying to pick it into favorable matchups. Most of its matchups are very polarized, so picking it into a favorable matchup and covering its weaknesses is most of the skill of using it.
  • Use Tapu Koko to threaten opposing Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, allowing the safety of team mates such as Mega Metagross. How do you know it's Charizard Y? It could be X which can beat both Metagross and Tapu Koko. Tapu Koko scares off pokemon like Mega-Gyarados, Mega-Pinsir, and Celesteela much more reliably.

Team Options
  • Pokemon weak to Mega Gyarados and Mega Charizard Y, such as Crustle or Magearna, can take advantage of Tapu Koko’s typing and speed tier to scare off potent threats.
  • Mega Gyarados can also be used on a team, as it covers some of Tapu Koko’s checks in Donphan and Crustle.
  • Fast hard hitting Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Garchomp can easily KO Tapu Koko, so checks such as Mega Slowbro are appreciated.
  • Tapu Koko can also take care of many bulky Pokemon such as Deoxys-D, Chansey, Magearna, allowing Pokemon such as Kyurem-B to come in safely.
  • On the other hand, Tapu Koko can also nuke many fast wallbreakers such as Mega Metagross, Greninja, and Mega Pinsir, allowing more defensive Pokemon to be brought in.
  • Other hard hitting Special attackers such as Tapu Lele can also be utilized, as Tapu Koko has only a mediocre Special Attack stat. It may have pretty low attacking stats, but it hits really hard.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

  • Tapu Koko can run Hidden Power Ice, but it only hits Landorus and non-Choice Scarf Garchomp and has a low base power.
  • Tapu Koko can also utilize a Calm Mind + Roost set, but it lacks the longevity and bulk needed for it while also missing out on other utility moves such as Taunt. However, Substitute works well with this set, sponging attacks from set up sweepers such as Mega Charizard X and giving Tapu Koko a chance to set up itself. Calm Mind is better as just a way to get past bulky pokemon. It's outclassed by Charge, though. I've literally never seen Roost work on Tapu Koko.
  • Hidden Power Fire can hit Ferrothorn to allow Tapu Koko to defeat it, but has little utility otherwise. I'm not sure this is worth including. If you're gonna run HP Fire for Ferrothorn, you might as well include Grass Knot for Quagsire.
  • Thunderbolt can be used as a backup in case Gigavolt Havoc does not OHKO, due to Thunder’s low accuracy. It can almost always finish off an opponent that has lived Gigavolt Havoc. In my opinion, Dazzling Gleam is better for this, as it gives you wider coverage.
  • Tapu Koko can also effectively utilize a physical set containing Wild Charge over Thunder, as its Attack stat is higher than its Special Attack stat. You should expand this. Physical Tapu Koko is as viable as special. Physical can beat Tapu Lele and Meloetta, special can beat Mega-Metagross.

Checks and Counters

Sturdy/Disguise Pokemon: Every Sturdy Pokemon beats Tapu Koko, as they can live any singular hit and proceed to OHKO Tapu Koko in return. Mimikyu can also beat Tapu Koko by living any attack through Disguise and retaliating with a powerful Z-move. Tapu Koko can beat Air Balloon Magnezone. Flash Cannon does not OHKO.

Ground-type Pokemon: Ground-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Rhyperior are completely unaffected by Gigavolt Havoc and can OHKO Tapu Koko with hard hitting moves of their own. Ground-types vs Tapu Koko are about the hardest counters in 1v1. Our example set doesn't even include a move to hit Ground-types and just about any STAB Earthquake OHKOs.

Choice Scarfers: Choice Scarfers such as Garchomp and Porygon-Z outspeed Tapu Koko and can easily OHKO it with their STAB moves due to its low defenses.

Resistant Pokemon: Pokemon that resist Tapu Koko’s main move Gigavolt Havoc, such as Mega Charizard X, usually defeat Tapu Koko by virtue of living its most powerful attack and dealing massive damage back. And Kyurem-Black.

Specially Defensive Pokemon: If Tapu Koko is not running Taunt, special walls such as Chansey and Deoxys-D can easily live any of its attacks and proceed to stall it out. Why would you not run Taunt? Tapu Koko is considered a counter to these pokemon.

Tapu Koko

And Kyurem-Black.

ok implemented, but there are a few things i wanted to bring up
- idt electric terrain preventing sleep is really all that relevant towards tapu koko's abilities, considering nothing can make tapu koko fall asleep and a lot of the rest users get nuked like mega slowbro
- i changed the second point to just electric, since theres actually no fairy coverage on this set
- ill put mega gengar and pheromosa, but is pheromosa really relevant enough? ill put it if you recommend it, but just asking, considering it says "such as" and shouldnt list everything
- charge: ill put it, but dont you lose to mega venusaur anyway and beat mag anyway
- hp fire: do i remove this or put in grass knot

one more big thing:
am i even allowed to put two EV spreads in the set? im pretty sure this isnt allowed but if it is, ill put that. ill need to confirm though

ok this should be finished, could you go over it again to make sure i got everything? thanks ^_^

Overview

-I'd also mention that Electric Terrain blocks sleep inducing moves such as Sleep Powder from Jumpluff and Mega Venusaur
-Can it really beat Mega Charizard X? Doesn't Flare Blitz just OHKO
-Mention that it gets directly blocked by Ground-type Pokemon

Moves

Ok, I don't know this might be a little bit confusing smashing both physical and special together so I'd like better organisation on this point

-Mention that wild charge is an alternative if the user wants to go physical and must use the correct EV spread if they choose to do so.
-Again, I don't know if Zard X setting up is relevant.
-Charge also helps against Mega Venusaur

Set Details
Here also, I'd give both spreads the same importance like:
Special spread..
Timid for special allowing it to outspeed...
more stuff for special...
Physical Spread...
Things for physical<

-Mention Ground-type Pokemon that walls it and that Mega Gyarados, greninja etc.. can help beating them

Tapu Koko

This, in combination with its extremely high speed tier, allows it to outspeed almost all of the metagame, barring Mega Gengar, Pheromosa, and fast Choice Scarf users such as Garchomp. Tapu Koko also has access to Taunt, helping it defeat walls and set up sweepers that it would usually have trouble with, such as Deoxys-D and Chansey. However, Tapu Koko has generally mediocre offensive stats, which are mostly remedied by Electric Terrain. Tapu Koko also has low defensive stats, making it frail and susceptible to many attacks. This makes it reliant on high damaging moves to OHKO foes, and will usually lose if it cannot. Tapu Koko also lacks good coverage options, leaving it unable to bypass its checks such as Mega Venusaur and Kyurem-B. Tapu Koko also gets completely walled by Ground-type Pokemon such as Donphan, as its only attack cannot touch them.

Moves

On the special set, Thunder is Tapu Koko's main attack; when used with an Electrium Z, its base power is boosted to a respectable 185, while also having STAB and a further boost from Electric Terrain. Gigavolt Havoc also ignores Thunder's unreliable accuracy, and nukes most Pokemon that do not resist it. On the other hand, the physical set replaces Thunder with Wild Charge, which can be effective due to Tapu Koko's higher Attack stat. Wild Charge uses the alternative EV spread with max Attack instead of Special Attack. Taunt can shut down bulkier Pokemon such as Chansey and Deoxys-D that Tapu Koko would usually have trouble with, making them either Struggle to death or block recovery. It can also stop Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X from setting up. Substitute is useful for sponging up powerful Z-move and recharge moves, and can also aid Tapu Koko in defeating FEAR Pokemon such as Aron. Charge boosts Tapu Koko's Special Defense by one stage, allowing it to better deal with special attackers and Mega Venusaur. It also boosts Tapu Koko's next Electric-type attack, making Gigavolt Havoc hit even harder. Nature's Madness, on the other hand, deals 50% damage to every Pokemon, regardless of resistance. It can be useful against Pokemon that Tapu Koko cannot OHKO, such as Chansey. However, Tapu Koko's low miixed bulk mean that is usually cannot live an attack after using Nature's Madness, so it should only be used against very bulky Pokemon.

Set Details

Special set: The first EV spread maximizes Tapu Koko's Speed and Special Attack, giving it as much power as possible while allowing it to outspeed most of the metagame. Tapu Koko can also be given a Timid nature to maximize its Speed, outspeeding Pokemon such as maximum Speed Greninja along with speed-tying Mega Gengar. On the other hand, a Modest nature can be used to give Tapu Koko more power, but the power comes at the cost of Speed.
Physical set: The alternative EV spread maximizes Tapu Koko's Speed and Attack. A Jolly nature gives it more Speed while an Adamant nature gives Tapu Koko more offensive power.

However, a specially oriented set allows Tapu Koko to defeat Pokemon with a high Defense stat, such as Mega Metagross. When up against a bulkier Pokemon such as Deoxys-D, use Taunt to cripple them, making them unable to heal while also potentially making them use Struggle. Against high HP Pokemon such as Chansey, Nature's Madness should be used to chip off lots of damage in tandem with Taunt to stop recovery. Avoid sending in Tapu Koko against Pokemon that can easily beat it, such as Donphan. However, team mates such as Mega Gyarados can be used to threaten these Pokemon and bring in Tapu Koko against a more favorable matchup. Tapu Koko can also be used to threaten opposing Pokemon such as Mega Pinsir and Mega Gyarados, allowing the safety of team mates such as Mega Charizard Y.

Fast hard hitting Pokemon such as Choice Scarf can easily KO Tapu Koko, making checks such as Mega Slowbro appropriate team mates. Tapu Koko also has a very hard time dealing with Ground-type Pokemon, meaning team mates such as Mega Gyarados can scare them off and make it easier to bring in Tapu Koko.

Tapu Koko can also use Dazzling Gleam a a backup in case Gigavolt Havoc does not OHKO, due to Thunder's unreliable accuracy. It can almost always finish off a foe that has lived Gigavolt Havoc, and can also hit Pokemon that are not affected by Gigavolt Havoc.

Checks and Counters

Ground-type Pokemon
: Ground-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Rhyperior are completely unaffected by Gigavolt Havoc and can OHKO Tapu Koko with hard hitting moves of their own.

Sturdy/Disguise Pokemon: Every Sturdy Pokemon besides Air Balloon Magnezone beats Tapu Koko, as they can live any singular hit and proceed to OHKO Tapu Koko in return. Mimikyu can also beat Tapu Koko by living any attack through Disguise and retaliating with a powerful Z-move.

Choice Scarfers: Choice Scarfers such as Garchomp and Porygon-Z outspeed Tapu Koko and can easily OHKO it with their STAB moves due to its low defenses.

Resistant Pokemon: Pokemon that resist Tapu Koko’s main move Gigavolt Havoc, such as Kyurem-B, usually defeat Tapu Koko by virtue of living its most powerful attack and dealing massive damage back.

Tapu Koko

This, in combination with its extremely high speed tier, allows it to outspeed almost all of the metagame, barring Mega Gengar, Pheromosa, and fast Choice Scarf users such as Garchomp I'd mention Porygon-Z here instead of Garchomp as the example of a Choice Scarf Pokemon. It's more well known.

Electrium Z
Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest / Adamant / Jolly
- Thunder / Wild Charge
- Taunt
- Substitute
- Charge / Nature's Madness

Moves

On the special set, Thunder is Tapu Koko's main attack; when used with an Electrium Z, its base power is boosted to a respectable 185, Gigavolt Havoc's BP is 185 not Thunder's while also having STAB and a further boost from Electric Terrain. I'd word this as "have trouble with, blocking their recovery and occasionally making them Struggle" It can also stop Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X from setting up. It also boosts instead of boosts mention that it doubles the damage of the electric-type attack regardless of if it's Physical or Special Tapu Koko's next Electric-type attack, making Gigavolt Havoc hit even harder.

Give an example of what it still outspeeds and of something that's just too fast for it.
Physical set: The alternative EV spread maximizes Tapu Koko's Speed and Attack. A Jolly nature gives it more Speed while an Adamant nature gives Tapu Koko more offensive power.
The item of choice is Electrium Z, which powers up Thunder or Wild Charge by a large amount. When used in tandem with Electric Surge, it can OHKO most foes.
Instead of saying Special Set: and Physical Set: just say "the special set maximizes the EV spread . . ."

This is all pretty good. Also mention keeping Tapu Koko away from pokemon that outspeed it such as Scarf PZ.

Fast hard hitting Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Choice Scarf what lol. can easily KO Tapu Koko, making checks such as Mega Slowbro appropriate team mates. Tapu Koko also has a very hard time dealing with Ground-type Pokemon, meaning team mates such as Mega Gyarados can scare them off and make it easier to bring in Tapu Koko.

It can almost always finish off a foe that has lived Gigavolt Havoc, and can also hit Pokemon that are not affected by Gigavolt Havoc. I'd mention thunderbolt here as an alternative to Thunder. It doesn't hit as hard when powered up with a Z-move but doesn't miss. It's rarely used but it's good enough.

Mention here that carrying Dazzling Gleam can occasionally help against Dragon-types. Also mention a Grass-type like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn as pokemon under this category.
Implement all my comments in bold and you're good to go. QC 3/3

That was easy; thanks for writing this well. Don't forget to change curly apostrophes [’] to straight ['] ones.
