  1. SM OU Z-Gyarados support 'n sweep

Good one, I completely overlooked Alomomola! It is indeed ugly, but I agree that it is probably a better choice than Vaporeon for this team!
  2. SM OU Z-Gyarados support 'n sweep

Hello everyone and welcome to my first RMT. As the title indicates, Z-Gyarados is the main star of this team with the rest of the cast playing a supportive role. The overall strategy is to wear down my opponent's pokemon and get crucial chip damage on everything before sweeping with Gyarados...
  3. Smogon Damage Calculator Released!

    Actually, the 1HKO and 2HKO odds are perfectly accurate. In the article (http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/damage_formula) it does indeed say the following: "85, 87, 89, 90, 92, 94, 96 and 98 each have a 7.69% chance of being chosen. 86, 88, 91, 93, 95, 97 and 99 each have a 5.13% chance of...
  4. A guide to using and applying EVs

I would just like to point out that the calculator you linked to is one that I really don't update anymore (and thus any errors that might be there, won't really be fixed). If you want my latest and thus most up to date calculator (over the past few weeks I've gotten rid of practically all the...
  5. Gimmick Thread!

Umbreon @ Leftovers Impish – 212 HP, 140 Def, 156 SpDef Synchronize ~ Mean Look ~ Baton Pass ~ Sand-Attack ~ Moonlight An alternate version of a Mean Look passer. The main idea here is to trap something that can’t really harm you and abuse Sand-Attack afterwards. Sand-Attack is...
  6. A Warstory Devoid of Content

A great read. It's nice to see that both of you had quite some original team members. Vaporeon, Staraptor and Roserade seem to be quite uncommon in most RMT's. I can't wait to get my own team ready...
  7. Pokemon Combination Discussion

Good point, I can't believe I overlooked that.
  8. Pokemon Combination Discussion

Point taken, but this doesn't take away that in some cases, like Electivire + Gyarados, you don't have the option of using either one of those attacks. Electric + Ground is, as far as I know, quite a rare attacking combination. Aside from that, using Earthquake while a Gyarados is out remains...
  9. Pokemon Combination Discussion

I know teams should work together as a whole all the time, but what I meant with this topic was to get people to post interesting ideas for pokemon that work well with each other, on the same level as Electivire and Gyarados do. Perhaps my Flygon + Metagross example wasn't the best one I could...
  10. Pokemon Combination Discussion

I've always been a bit of a defensive player for as long as Pokemon exists, and thus I've been looking for some solid combinations of two or perhaps three pokemon that could work effectively together on a team, not because they're over standard and have enormous base stats, but because they can...
  11. Heracross Idea

What's so special about this Heracross? As far as I know, Swords Dancing Heracross has been quite standard for as long as it exists.
  12. A question about Muscle Band and Wise Glasses....

Both boost by 1.1 as far as I know.
  13. Some thoughts on leading Pokemon

Hmm, it seems as though I have missed something... Thanks for pointing that out ;) And yeah, I was talking about Sleep Talk Heracross there.
  14. Some thoughts on leading Pokemon

True. This could be a point in favor of letting Starmie stay in one more turn, to scout for what they're up to. Also, when using Sing, Blissey would have to watch out for a Heracross switch-in, as a CB'd Megahorn or Close Combat hurts it quite badly when Guts has kicked in.
  15. Some thoughts on leading Pokemon

How would Choice Scarf Starmie function as a lead? Obviously, it's incredibly weak to CB Pursuit leads, or Pursuit in general, but Choice Scarf takes care of that quite effectively, by allowing it to outspeed the most prominent users of that attack (CS Heracross, CB Weavile). I was thinking the...
  16. Weezing Discussion

Mold Breaker is rather uncommon though. I myself am a big fan of Will-O-Wisp on Weezing, as burning something that utilizes physical attacks to form its primary offense is crippled by it. However, from my own experience, people are switching to special sweepers, or just things that can manage...
  17. Poliwrath

I could see a Bulk Up set on Poliwrath work. It has to have some form of boosting it's Atk if it's planning on actually harming something, and Bulk Up seems to be a solid option for that, as it also increases it's endurance abilities, which are quite solid already due to it's slightly above...
  18. Breeding Guide

Great job on the guide. I always hated breeding, as it took so much time, but now I think I can greatly limit the time I spend to it, thanks to the helpful tips from your guide. Thanks
  19. your favorite block of ice! Regice disscussion

Needs a better explanation of the posted movesets and more movesets as alternative options as well IMO.
  20. Trick Room Discussion

I dislike Dusknoir as the lead pokemon on a Trick Room team. I haven't tried one out yet myself, but I'd much rather use a pokemon the way the person on that first youtube video does: Something slow that's immune to Sandstorm as your lead pokemon that packs both Trick Room and Explosion. The...
