DPPt In-Game Tier List Thread v2

I understand. Last time I used Kazza, I saved until I got the bike so that I could get a Machop east of Eterna to trade. Meaning that it obeyed me when I first got it. I'm not sure if whether or not catching Machop at that point changes anything or not. I was also using four Pokemon in the run...

DPPt In-Game Tier List Thread v2

I fully agree with the idea that Alakazam is more of an A rather than an S in Platinum, partially because of its iffy performances on Mars 1, Jupiter 1 and Fantina. One thing I am curious about though are your issues with Kazza, since you said at the start of your post that you shouldn't use it.

Mons you can't go without in-game?

Gen 1: A Pokemon that can BoltBeam, or a pair that can cover those bases. Gen 2: Anything that can use the elemental punches. Gen 3: Gen 4: Anything with Close Combat. Gen 5: Something from the desert. Excadrill in the sequel. Gen 6: Anything that can Mega Evolve. Gen 7: Anything with Scald...

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen In-Game Tier List

Oh, I didn't try and make the post to convince people that Blastoise should be in S. I just fancied giving my two-cents on the discussion. My standards as to what's S probably aren't compatible with this thread's own rules. I do you think raise good points about Vaporeon having more offensive...

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen In-Game Tier List

I thought I'd probably give my two cents on what I feel the quality of each Pokemon is in these games. Having 100 less Pokemon to judge made this far easier than my attempt at this with GS. If you have queries, then please feel free to respond to me.

X Items, Tier Lists, and their Application

I was ruminating over the discussion yesterday and yeah, this checks out with some of my thoughts. I personally wouldn't ban them, but I'd penalise a Pokemon for relying too heavily on them. For example, something like Leafeon would be marked down if it excessively relied on them in a game...

X Items, Tier Lists, and their Application

Yeah, I think I was pretty careless with the order I did them. In particular, the order of how I did Erika, Rocket Hideout and Pokemon Tower was a bit whack. Although it raises the question of how to go about the open ended parts of specific games. I think for now, your idea is plausible as the...

X Items, Tier Lists, and their Application

I understand where you're coming from there. It also begs the question of how the overlevel was gained in the first place. There could be extreme manipulation done to make sure a Pokemon someone really liked was considered efficient, say for instance a massive grinding session. You can't just...

X Items, Tier Lists, and their Application

Having to be two levels below/two levels above a specific fight is a particularly big headache when that rule's imposed. No wonder everyone does their own thing.

GSC In-Game Tier List Mark V

DrumstickGaming: My definition of a wall is a little different than what maybe used in the competitive metagame. I believe that a wall is something that has 65 or lower of both offensive stats. Meanwhile, something with above average offensive user say like Scrafty is what I would deem a tank...

GSC In-Game Tier List Mark V

aegon: While Quagsire is common in Union Cave, I have a feeling that people who just want to get through the efficiently would rather use something which is both common and doesn't have that chance of fleeing. I suppose it depends if you're willing to persevere to get a Pokemon which such an...

GSC In-Game Tier List Mark V

Ryota Mitarai: Wow, I never knew that Quagsire actually had a 50% flee rate in those games. You sure do know these sorts of games like the back of your hand, eh? Depending on the way you look at things, it may even bring less to the table than the beasts. Even when you just catch it as a Wooper...

Turdterra: I understand. Just as long as I'm not doing anything that could move this discussion to a grinding halt. I'm sure we're all ready to see the end of GSC discussion by now.

GSC In-Game Tier List Mark V

Zebes: Thank you. For a second, I was worried that the post would be removed for not complying with the standards of the thread. Then again, this is probably a more liberal board than something say like the competitive discussion. In all seriousness, I was probably pushing it bringing up Snorlax...

GSC In-Game Tier List Mark V

Hello I decided to take a page out of Zebes' book on the FRLG tiers and share an image of my thoughts on everyone through an image. It can be found on the folder below. Keep in mind that these are for the original GS, I will discuss what I think of Pokemon that functions differently in Crystal...

GSC In-Game Tier List Mk. IV

I second Espeon being C-tier. Sure it has plenty of firepower when you get it going, but that's the thing. There's way too much dexterity to make it usable. You need to splash out money which could be going to potions, balls, and repels just to get a ton of X-items, which aren't even going to be...

Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow In-Game Tiers - Reboot

Final Japanese Blue writeups: Venusaur: I'm late to the change, but I'm going to have to go with a B tier here. There were points where I thought this thing may have been A instead, such as the Misty fight and the SS Anne-Rock Tunnel performance, but overall the run is too...
