Wo-Chien team that I hit #27 on the ladder with, featuring home-cooked metal coat gholdengo... PhysDef Wo-Chien has some illegal calcs like living offensive tusk cc and KOing/healing it all back with giga drain https://pokepast.es/150e4879516bdede

I'd definitely use protect and not sub, protect is for getting back extra health via lefties and leech seed as well as scouting opposing choiced mons. Given that wochien is slow, you aren't getting much scouting potential out of sub, and losing 25% of your hp won't be so bad with leech/lefties...

Generally I find that (with the help of calcs) I can scout for tusk sets over the course of a game, and having the option to stay in if I know it's defensive is nice Also, defensive rotom is a somewhat common pivot into scarf ghold, and it is nice to be able to stay in and continue to bluff...

Been laddering with this for a while now and honestly, I think it has enough merit to be talked about: :sv/oricorio-sensu: Oricorio-Sensu @ Heavy-Duty Boots Level: 100 Bold Nature Ability: Dancer EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe IVs: 0 Atk - Revelation Dance - Roost - Quiver Dance - Taunt The...

Used semi-hail a bit, and yeah slowking is the only real viable setter. Abomasnow has basically no value offensively or defensively in this meta outside of the stray ice shard rk and being rocks weak and not having regenerator gets it chipped down rapidly. That being said, I prefer this...

"similar levels of power" falls a bit short when it's 20% stronger than the things labeled as similar, and while I do agree that Chi-Yu isn't as unbearable as others might say, Chi-Yu isn't only running specs. Scarf, while imo worse, is a fantastic revenge killer, boots np can be a good surprise...

+1 to this analysis—I use protect rocks garg on I think 100% of the teams I've used recently (high-ish ladder, ~1800), and while it generally is a great mon, if I run into a lure set it can be game over right there. Since damn near the whole tier gets sub + boosting moves, basically anything can...

+1 for covert cloak garg, aside from the mirror matchup it also appreciates the ability to avoid flinches (kingambit iron head, pao icicle crash), and stat drops like pao/roaring moon crunch in order to keep recovering and accumulating salt cure chip. That being said, I personally have a lot...

Worth noting that this is (probably) Showdown's assumed interaction and not a tested one, but yeah it probably doesn't. Unfortunate, honestly, I think it would be an interesting form of counterplay against those moves Edit: realizing you might have meant that you tested it in game via hacking...

Do we know if covert cloak will work on the hazard stack effects of Stone Axe/Ceaseless Edge? Seems like it might end up as a great item on something like pex or dozo as an anti-garg, anti-kleavor, anti-samurott-h tech when home drops. Also want to give a shout to futureport (futurereception?)...
