Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I guess I’d advocate for tiers to be renamed to something that reflects better these mons actual usefulness. I don’t know if more dexit is suddenly the answer since people were so outraged about it but I do think Smogon’s tiering system is a good way to try to keep nearly every Mon relevant in...
Hi I'm a lurker and hope I don't post this response wrong but I wanted to say I'd personally advocate against Fairy in any capacity for one reason: Kommo-o. Out of all of the Soundproof mons available I think Kommo-o presents the biggest potential threat to CAP 34's sweeping potential and I...
yeah its not really that much of a biggie, but hate when a new game is released and immediately people are like “your favorites are trash” and not just like lower tier. All the designs I tend to like are for worse mons.
not really anything major but I’m running off two hours of poor sleep so...
yeah not normally an OU poster but just saying it cause there’s a new Mon that’ll probably fall. People are entitled on how they feel but I do find it kinda annoying that the only things people can find exciting are those that fit in the narrow confines of a tier where making it as any thing but...
I’ve noticed OU people have the tendency to label a new Mon trash based on that tiers standards but once it falls a bit it can settle nicely or becoming the dominating force in a lower tier.
Excited to see possible spreads for my in game. Even if it doesn’t end up OU or even UU I still see it possibly settling somewhere it could be good as it has a good defensive typing and naturally good stats since it’s a mythical. Only reason stuff like Wo-Chien fall so low is their miserable...
I wonder if Sceptile might have marginal viability as a Shed Tail user in UUbers. Not really speaking to any particular trait I can think of just wondering if there’s anything that would set it apart enough from Cyclizar to give it a niche. A kinda unexpected addition to its movepool.
I’m kinda bummed not to see Silvally this time around generally. Could be majorly buffed with at least some recovery move, and lower tier Arceus is nice. Looking at the list of not included mons wish it and the Tapus were here, pretty fine not having the rest. With Quark Drive and other...
alluring voice seems at least good for coverage (Jolteon is the one I’m most excited for as it runs tera fairy terablast already) and is basically Dazzelling Gleam with a situational but useful secondary effect. Forget the full distribution but could see a lot of mons taking advantage of it.
Is it too situational to take advantage of ? The drop in BST is significant compared to standard Psychic but the benefit seems like it could out way the cost, can’t really tell if it would be more effectively used by an offensive or utility mon. Like the idea of using it on Primarina since it...
Just kinda curious, what do people think of some of the new tm moves? Some like that fighting priority one seem unusable to me, but I’m curious how good Hard Press and Psychic Noise will be. Hard Press seems worse than a Water Sprout equivalent but maybe not terrible to have a hard hit on...
Liquid Voice should turn Alluring Voice and Psychic Noise to water moves for Primarina right? Seems like it would maybe be significant for Psychic Noise, but too bad it still doesn’t get an additional -ate type boost.
Personally I’m excited for the upcoming chaos before things settle, just seems like a DLC2 tradition now.
Hoping Deoxys comes back too. Defense was always borderline unbannable in past gens and powercreep plus the bevy of ghost and dark (and U-Turn) just makes it seem much less broken than it...
To be fair Wo-Chien is currently ranked higher on the Viability List for RU than a lot of mons that stayed in the tier, I haven’t played a ton so not sure if this has changed recently or if it’s just not being used in proportion to its actual viability. Scream Tail as well though she tends to...
