Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
What if we don't have 5 mons specifically? Why does it have to be 5?
My top 2 that I wanted banned from DLC2 were Roaring Moon and Gouging Fire. Roaring Moon is still my #1 ban choice. There is really no reason why I can see that a mon that is as good a sweeper, wallbreaker, and all around...
Serp is the only OU mon that runs it. But if you wanted to try a lower tier mon that can be viable in OU, Comfey gets Leech Seed. I don't know if Leech Seed is good on it, but it might be your best shot.
Maybe you could do something strange with Poison Heal Sub Breloom, but I doubt it. The...
Ok. So I wanted to give an update on the testing results of my double Terrain team. The core 4 remains the same. The best combination I have found for the last 2 slots so far is Corv/Zama. I tried testing testing suggestions of Geezing, AV Hatt, and Sticky Barb Clef to varying degrees of...
First of all, if Moon Tera'd then it probably set up an extra DD. And if you are coming in to check Moon, that's also a turn it could maybe take advantage of the predicted switch and DD. So you are looking at a lot of +1, +1 and BE attack, and maybe even +2 kinds of scenarios. The raw power is...
Roaring Moon still has the higher number here, making it less vulnerable to physical priority according to stats. No one should be saying Waterpon is less vulnerable to priority based on stats, typing, or anything else.
I forgot to say if it was Tera Dark. But Wellspring also doesn't 1HKO if...
How? Roaring Moon has base 105 HP and 71 defense while Wellspring has base 80 HP and 84 defense. Even with 13 higher base defense, it's down a whole base 25 HP. That makes Moon more naturally bulky on the defensive side despite its low defense. Roaring Moon has a higher base Sp. Def. as well...
You can still swap terrains back and forth. I used Rillaboom to fix the no priority issue on my Psychic Terrain teams. It's much better than Arboliva, which saddens me a little since I really love Arboliva's design.
People know my opinion on Roaring Moon. The only thing I will say is further on this is that I feel like the tier would be a lot healthier if the fastest BE mon was Iron Valiant as opposed to Roaring Moon.
Ok... Gambit with two KOs or does roughly 29-34.4% with Sucker Punch to Roaring Moon...
Not sure why TPP didn't DD up and maybe Tera in Lando-T's face. That seems like a misplay to me. This was discussed in my previous comment. The math says you should DD in Lando-T's face.
This game is like taking a team with Blissey and Clod and saying Volc isn't broken because it couldn't...
Yeah, I honestly don't know why anyone using Moon wouldn't just DD and potentially Tera in Lando's face. Lando-T can at most slow down physical setup sweepers. A single +1 hit from Moon can basically ensure that T can die to even one more neutral hit at +0. The more T switches around to try to...
I am one of the ones who doesn't think Gholdengo is a problem. The hazard clear issues are overrated. Not nonexistent, just overstated. We actually have more tools to deal with hazards now in gen 9 than we did for most of the former gens with things like HDB, viable spinners, Court Change, and...
You mentioned Garg. Passive regen, a slow pivot into something that threatens Garg, and covert cloak probably help. Garg isn't much if you can mitigate Salt Cure and Curse snowballing. Due to my tendencies with teambuilding, I haven't had as much trouble with mons like Bolt, Garg, or Waterpon as...
Hey. You said you wanted to maybe talk team building. Without knowing your full team is, I can't really discuss much specifics. Of what I heard, you already have a team that is top 200. So maybe you don't to change it much if at all. I'm surprised you said you have a bad matchup into Bolt when...
Bolt is just a really good glue mon since you can combine bulk and priority. The best way to deal with it is to have one ground type that is either faster or very bulky (like Coldsire or Ting Lu) and at least one soft check. A soft check can include a Grass type or a faster Dragon type with...
